Error message: Outlook cannot open the File Name data file until it has been checked for problems (883974)

SYMPTOMSWhen you start Microsoft Outlook 2002 Service Pack 3 (SP3), you receive the following error message:
Outlook cannot open the data file File Name until it has been checked for problems.
CAUSEThis issue may occur if Outlook was previously shut down incorrectly and you are using a personal folder file (.pst) or an offline folder file (.ost).
RESOLUTIONNo action is required. When this message appears, Outlook is checking the files. Outlook opens normally when this check is complete.
MORE INFORMATIONThe message in the "Symptoms" section is a new message that is introduced in Outlook 2002 SP3.
When the message appears, the check is in process. If you end the Outlook process, this issue is not resolved. The check process must complete before Outlook can open, and the file check does not display a progress status.
