New items that you add to a custom Calendar view of a list in a Windows SharePoint Services Web site may not be displayed (883973)

SYMPTOMS

When you create a custom Calendar view of a list in your Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services Web site and then add new items to the Calendar view, the items may not be displayed in the Calendar view. You experience this symptom only with a custom Calendar view. You do not experience this symptom when you add new items to the default Calendar view for a list, such as the Events list.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs if the custom Calendar view of the list contains 100 items. By default, a Calendar view that you create can contain a maximum of 100 items. If a custom Calendar view already contains 100 items, additional items that you add to the Calendar view are not displayed.

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior, modify the .aspx page for the custom Calendar view. To do this, follow these steps:

Start Microsoft Office FrontPage 2003, and then open the Windows SharePoint Services Web site.
Locate and then open the .aspx page for the Calendar view. For example, if you created a new Calendar view that is named MyCalendarView for the Events list, expand Lists under Folder List, expand Events, and then double-click the MyCalendarView.aspx page.
On the View menu, click Page (if it is not already selected), and then click Code at the bottom of the page.
Locate the following line that is contained in the .aspx page:
RowLimit Paged="FALSE">100</RowLimit>
To do this:
1. On the Edit menu, click Find.
2. In the Find and Replace dialog box, click the Find tab.
3. Type RowLimit in the Find what box, and then click Find Next.
Increase the number that is specified in the RowLimit Paged="FALSE">100</RowLimit> line to the number of items that you want. By default, the number that is specified is 100.

For example, if you want to display a maximum of 500 items in the Calendar view of the list, change the line to the following:
RowLimit Paged="FALSE">500</RowLimit>
On the File menu, click Save, and then click Close.
