Issues that are fixed in the hotfix package

The following issue is fixed in this hotfix package:
  • 884058 A negative work value is unexpectedly displayed for a task when you assign a resource to a task in Project 2003

The following issue is also fixed in this hotfix package but was not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
  • You receive a "The Office Assistant could not be started" error message

    When you click Show the Office Assistant on the Help menu in Microsoft Project 2000 or when you restart Microsoft Project 2000 after you click Show the Office Assistant on the Help menu, you receive the following error message:
    The Office Assistant could not be started. Please repair the Assistant by running Office 2000 setup and selecting "Repair Office 2000"
    This problem occurs if the following conditions are true in the order that they are presented:
    • You are running Project 2003 and Microsoft Project 2000 at the same time.
    • The Office Assistant is turned on in Project 2003.
