A WinInet application may stop responding for 60 seconds before it closes when you use the automatic configuration script (883788)

SYMPTOMS

When you close an application that calls the functions in the Wininet.dll file, and the computer uses the automatic configuration script, the application may stop responding for 60 seconds before the application closes.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because of a pending autoproxy processing request. The application that uses the Wininet.dll file waits for 60 seconds for the autoproxy thread to finish its work.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.
