A meeting is removed from your Outlook calendar after you delete a previously-accepted meeting update request in Exchange 2000 Server or in Exchange Server 2003 (883672)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 Standard Edition
  • Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 Enterprise Edition
  • Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server
  • Microsoft Exchange 2000 Enterprise Server

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server and in Microsoft Exchange Server 2003, when you use Collaborative Data Objects (CDO) to programmatically accept and respond to a meeting request update, that update is processed correctly. However, if you do not programmatically remove the meeting request after you respond to it, you experience the following symptoms:
  • If you start Microsoft Outlook, the meeting request update appears with a "Please respond" status.
  • If you delete this meeting request update from Outlook, the corresponding Calendar item is also deleted.
You expect the meeting request update to appear in Outlook with an "Accepted" status. Additionally, if you delete the previously-accepted meeting request update by using Outlook, you do not expect the meeting to be removed from your Outlook calendar.
