The "Mailbox Owner Right" permission is removed when you use Active Directory Connector to move a mailbox for a disabled user account from Exchange Server 5.5 to Exchange Server 2003 Service Pack 1 (883642)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 Standard Edition, Service Pack 1 (SP1)
  • Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 Enterprise Edition, Service Pack 1 (SP-1)

SYMPTOMS

Microsoft Exchange Server version 5.5 contains a mailbox for a disabled user account. You use Active Directory Connector (ADC) to move this mailbox from Exchange Server 5.5 to Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 Service Pack 1 (SP1). If you use the Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5 Administrator program to view the permissions of the disabled user account, you notice that the Mailbox Owner Right permission has been removed.

If you use Active Directory Users and Computers to view the mailbox rights of the disabled user account in Exchange Server 2003 SP1, you notice that the trustee of the mailbox is set to SELF. The SELF account has Read permissions and Associated External Account permissions. However, the SELF account does not have Full Mailbox Access permissions.
