You do not receive the "Safe to remove hardware" message when you click the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon in Windows XP (883517)

SYMPTOMS

When you click the Safely Remove Hardware icon in the notification area to eject a device bay device, you do not receive the following message indicating that it is safe to remove the device: Safe to remove hardware

RESOLUTION

Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing.
