When you use the Oracle 9.2 client in the Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 and your password reaches the end of its grace period, you receive the following message:Ora-28002 Password will expire in
X daysYou install the following hotfix:
830173 FIX: A pooled connection is not disposed by Microsoft .NET Managed Provider for Oracle when an exception occurs
After you install the hotfix, the warning message may cause the following error message, and you may not be able to log on to Oracle:
Unexpected return code: 1
RESOLUTION
A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that this article describes. Apply it only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.
