Task items may be unavailable in the Microsoft Operations Manager 2005 Operator console (883337)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Operations Manager 2005
SYMPTOMSIn Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM) 2005, the items that are listed under Tasks in the details pane of the Microsoft Operations Manager Operator console may be dimmed and unavailable.CAUSEThis behavior occurs because these items are context-sensitive. The items are unavailable when they do not apply to the selected view.
For example, after you create an alert view task, all alert tasks are available in the details pane when you click Alerts in the console tree. However, when you click Events, only tasks that are specific to events are available in the details pane. The alert tasks are unavailable.STATUS
This behavior is by design.REFERENCESFor more information about working with tasks, see the "Working with Tasks" section in MOM 2005 Help. To do this, follow these steps: - Click Start, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Operations Manager 2005, and then click Operator Console.
- On the menu bar of the MOM Operator console, click Help, and then click Microsoft Operations Manager Help.
