The Marketing resource does not display any properties in Commerce Server 2002 (883284)

SYMPTOMS

When you view the Marketing resource for a site in Microsoft Commerce Server 2002 Manager, the Marketing resource contains no properties.

CAUSE

This problem occurs when you unpack a site from a Commerce Server Site Packager file (.pup) that contains Microsoft Commerce Server 2002 Feature Pack 1 (FP1) properties on a Commerce Server 2002-based computer that does not have Feature Pack 1 installed on it.

Note When you unpack the site, you receive no warning that Feature Pack 1 is not installed.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, install Commerce Server 2002 Feature Pack 1.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.

Steps to reproduce the behavior

  1. Install Commerce Server 2002.
  2. Install Commerce Server 2002 Service Pack 2 (SP2).
  3. Unpack Retail2002.pup.
  4. Unpack the FP1.pup package that is located in the \Program Files\FP1\Pup Packages folder on the FP1 CD.
  5. Start Commerce Server Manager, expand Site Resources, and then double-click Marketing.
