Office OneNote 2003 SP1 stops responding on a Tablet PC that is running Windows XP Tablet PC Edition (878453)

SYMPTOMS

When you open Microsoft Office OneNote 2003 Service pack 1 (SP1) on a Tablet PC that is running Microsoft Windows XP Tablet PC Edition, you may find that Office OneNote 2003 stops responding.

CAUSE

This problem occurs if the Tablet PC Input Panel component, Tiptsf.dll, is not unloaded correctly.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft Windows XP. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

Note Installing Windows XP Service Pack 2 on a computer that is running Windows XP Tablet PC Edition will upgrade the operating system to Windows XP Tablet PC Edition 2005.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.

This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2.
