The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Office Visio Professional 2003
  • Microsoft Office Visio Standard 2003
  • Microsoft Visio 2002 Professional SR-1
  • Microsoft Visio 2002 Standard SR-1

SYMPTOMS

When you click a link on a Web page to open a Microsoft Visio drawing, you may find that more than one HTTP GET request is generated. When you view the log on the Web server where the Visio drawing is stored, multiple GET entries are logged every time that the Visio drawing is opened. If you use a third-party Web-based program that uses cookies, the cookies may not work as expected.

CAUSE

This problem may occur if the following conditions are true:
  • Microsoft Office Visio 2003 or Microsoft Visio 2002 Service Release 1 (SR-1) or later is installed on your computer.
  • You click a link on a Web page to open a Visio drawing.
Visio 2003 and Visio 2002 SR-1 and later generate multiple GET requests when you open a drawing by using HTTP. By design, Visio 2003 and Visio 2002 SR-1 and later work this way.
