"Failed last time it ran" error message occurs when the Microsoft SQL server jobs that are used by Microsoft CRM fail (874748)

SYMPTOMS

When the Microsoft SQL Server jobs that are used by Microsoft CRM 1.2 and by Microsoft Business Solutions CRM 1.0 fail, the following error messages are logged in the event log on the server that is running Microsoft SQL Server and that stores the Microsoft CRM databases:

Error message 1

<org name>_METABASE-CRMMetaPub-<org name>METABASE-2 - Failed last time it ran

Error message 2

<org name>_MSCRM-CRMPub-<org name>_MSCRM-1 - Not scheduled since

Error message 3

<org name>_MSCRM.Close Past Appointments - Failed last time it ran

Error message 4

<org name>_MSCRM.Update Contract States - Failed last time it ran

Error message 5

Expired subscription clean up - Failed last time it ran

Error message 6

Start_Incremental on <org name>_MSCRM.ftcat_documentindex.[7.5] - Failed last time it ran
Note In these messages, <org name> represents the organization name of the company.

CAUSE

This problem occurs when a service or an account on the Microsoft SQL server is disabled.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, follow these steps:
  1. On the server that is running Microsoft SQL Server on which the Microsoft CRM databases are stored, click Start, click Run, type services.msc in the Open field, and then click OK.
  2. Verify the status of the SQLSERVERAGENT service. If the service is not started, right-click SQLSERVERAGENT, and then click Start.
  3. On the domain controller for the Microsoft CRM environment, click Start, point to Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Active Directory Users and Computers.
  4. Click Users, and then locate the user who is starting the Microsoft CRM SQL jobs. If this user has been disabled in Active Directory, you must re-enable this user.
