"ERROR_INVALID_DATA" error message when you run an ADSI script in Windows 2000 (873444)

SYMPTOMS

When you try to run an Active Directory Service Interfaces (ADSI) script in Microsoft Windows 2000, the script may not run successfully. Additionally, you receive the following error message in this scenario:
ERROR_INVALID_DATA.

CAUSE

This problem may occur when the GetNextRow function returns "ERROR_INVALID_DATA" instead of "Error_Success/S_OK."

The GetNextRow function returns ERROR_INVALID_DATA if the following conditions are true:
  • The result set is more than the maximum number of rows to be returned in a page.
  • The page is specified by the ADS_SEARCHPREF_PAGESIZE search preference.
