The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Office Project Server 2003
SYMPTOMSResources receive e-mail notifications about the tasks that
are assigned to them, even though the resources are proposed resources. This
issue occurs when the following conditions are true:
- You create a new project in Microsoft Office Project Server
2003.
- You assign tasks to the proposed resources.
RESOLUTIONHow to obtain the hotfixThis issue is fixed in the Project Server 2003 Hotfix Package that was released August 18, 2004. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base: 838882 Description of the Project Server 2003 post-Service Pack 1 hotfix package: August 18, 2004 Note After you install the hotfix, e-mail notifications are suppressed if the following conditions are true:
- A resource has its booking type set to
Proposed.
- An assignment is published.
However,
if the booking type is later changed from Proposed to
Committed, and if everything is republished by using the
Publish All command, e-mail notifications are sent to the resource. To generate an
e-mail notification to the resource, you must select Republish
Assignments and then verify that the Notify all affected resources
via e-mail check box is selected. STATUSMicrosoft
has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed
in the "Applies to" section.
