You receive the "Wksproj caused a General Protection Fault in module 3dfx16v3.drv" error message when you start a Works 7.0 task by using the Works Task Launcher (873282)

SYMPTOMS

When you try to start a Microsoft Works 7.0 task by using the Microsoft Works Task Launcher, you may receive the following error message:

Wksproj caused a General Protection Fault in Module 3dfx16v3.drv

CAUSE

This problem may occur if you have one of the following video cards installed on your computer:

3dfx chipset video adapter card
3dfx chipset video card driver

3dfx Interactive, Inc. no longer manufactures the 3dfx chipset line of Voodoo video cards. Additionally, third-party and after market video drivers for the 3dfx-based Voodoo video card may not interact correctly with Microsoft Windows XP or other Microsoft programs.
