How to use the Live Meeting add-in to create a slide and to add property information to a slide in PowerPoint 2003 (873255)

INTRODUCTION

This article describes how to use the Microsoft Office Live Meeting add-in to create a slide, and how to add property information to a slide in Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2003.

To create a slide, and add property information in PowerPoint 2003 by using the Live Meeting add-in, follow these steps:
  1. Start PowerPoint to create a new slide or to open an existing slide .
  2. To create a new slide, point to Insert a New Live Meeting Slide on the Live Meeting menu, and then click PowerPoint Slide.
  3. To open an existing slide, click Edit Slide Properties on the Live Meeting menu.
  4. In the Live Meeting Properties for slide "slide name"dialog box, follow these steps:
    1. In the Slide Type box, click the type of slide that you want.
      NoteThe following slides are available in the Slide Type box:
      • PowerPoint Slide
      • Multiple Choice Poll
      • Yes/No Poll
      • Editable Text
      • Web Page
      • View/Application Share
    2. In the Presentation/Section Title box, type the title that you want to appear in the meeting when you show the slide. You can set the title once for the presentation, or you can use a different title on later slides to introduce each new section or subject in the presentation. If you leave the Presentation/Section Title box blank, PowerPoint will insert the title that is used in the box.
    3. In the Presenter Image Filename box, click Browse, and then locate a 60 x 60 pixel .gif file image of the presenter. This image appears to your participants in the meeting. You can set the .gif file once for a slide set, or you can associate different images with slides to be shown by different presenters.
    4. In the Presenter Name box, type the name of the presenter to match the image that you inserted in step 4c.
    5. In the Slide Name box, type the title of the slide. This information appears in the Review Slides dialog box when audience members view the title. This information appears in the same dialog box when presenters and moderators view the title in their list of slides. If you leave the Slide Name box blank, PowerPoint will insert the title that is used in the box.
    6. The Presenter Notes box is no longer supported because it is currently not available in Live Meeting.
    7. The additional information that you may need to add depends on the slide type that you selected in step 4a. The following table lists the additional information that you may need to add:

      Multiple Choice PollQuestionType the question that you want to appear on the slide.
      Multiple Choice PollChoicesType the choices for the answers. You can type as many as seven choices.
      Yes/No PollQuestionType the question that you want to appear on the slide.
      Editable TextInitial Contents(Optional) Type any text that you want to initially appear on the slide. As a Presenter, you can add to text, and then edit this text during the presentation. Attendees can paste the text from text slides to documents on their own computers.
      Web PageURLType the full URL for the Web page. For example, to display the Live Meeting Web page, type

      You can also paste a URL, or drag and drop a URL from your Web browser.

      Note To check that your URL will work correctly, click Preview This Web Page after you have typed in the URL.

    8. Click Apply to apply your changes to the current slide.
    9. To edit the slide properties for other slides in your slide set, use the scroll bar on the right-side of the Live Meeting Properties for slide "slide name" dialog box, and then repeat steps 4a through 4h.
    10. Click OK to close the Live Meeting Properties for slide "slide name" dialog box.
  5. On the File menu, click Save. You are now ready to upload the slide set to Live Meeting.
