The authentication process may fail when you try to use a Bluetooth-enabled keyboard with Windows XP Service Pack 2 (873181)

SYMPTOMS

After you install a Bluetooth-enabled keyboard on a computer that is running Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2, the authentication process may fail even when you type the correct passkey in the passkey dialog box.

CAUSE

This problem occurs when you press a letter key or a number key on the Bluetooth-enabled keyboard before the Enter passkey now dialog box appears.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, do not press a letter key or a number key on the Bluetooth-enabled keyboard before the Enter passkey now dialog box appears.
