Netscape installer requires you to enable SmartUpdate or AutoInstall in Live Meeting (873027)

SYMPTOMS

When you use Microsoft Office Live Meeting and Netscape Communicator, the Netscape installer requires that you enable the SmartUpdate feature or the AutoInstall feature. However, the check boxes that enable these features in the Netscape Preferences dialog box are unavailable.

CAUSE

This problem occurs if the Netscape policy has made the SmartUpdate feature or the AutoInstall feature unavailable.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, switch to Microsoft Internet Explorer, or follow these steps:
  1. Ask your system administrator to enable both the SmartUpdate feature and the AutoInstall feature.
  2. To install the latest version of Netscape Communicator, visit the following Netscape Web site:
    http://browser.netscape.com/ns8/
