The MODI driver files are not signed in Office 2003
In Office 2003, the Microsoft Office Document Imaging (MODI) driver files are not signed. The MODI files are located in the following folder:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\MODI\11.0\DRIVERS
The command button appears as a red X
A command button that has the layout of "In line with Text" is not redrawn if it is inserted into a Word 2003 document that has been saved and text is typed after the command button is inserted. Instead, the command button appears as a red X.
The \* bahttext switch in a FORMULA field does not convert a number into Thai text
When you use the
\* bahttext switch in a
FORMULA field to convert a number into Thai-language text, the number is not converted. This issue occurs when the number is greater than 1230.
An XML file that contains line breaks and base64-encoded data does not open in Word 2003
When you try to open a Word 2003 document that was saved as XML that contains base64-encoded data, such as a Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications macro, and that contains line breaks for end-of-line characters, the file does not open, and you receive the following error message:
Unspecified error.
You receive an error message after you save a Word 2003 document as a PDF file by using Adobe Acrobat 5.05 PDFMaker
After you save a Word 2003 document as a PDF file by using Adobe Acrobat 5.05 PDFMaker, you receive the following error message when you quit Word 2003:

Word 2003 quits unexpectedly if you click the thumbnails in Reading Layout view
If you click the thumbnails in Reading Layout view in a Word 2003 document, and then use the CTRL key and the mouse scroll wheel to zoom in to the maximum and then zoom out to the minimum, Word 2003 may quit unexpectedly.
The Address Block field is inserted by using the default address layout instead of by using the language-specific layout
When you insert the Address Block field in a mail merge, a language-specific address layout is not inserted. Instead, the Address Block is inserted in the default address layout.
You are not prompted to add the manifest location to the Trusted sites zone
When you reference a manifest that is located on a Web site in a Word 2003 document, you are not prompted to add the manifest location to the
Trusted sites zone in Microsoft Internet Explorer.
You receive an error message when you open a document off-line
When you open your document off-line that is attached to a smart document, your document opens but you receive the following error message:
A file that's a part of this XML expansion pack could not be downloaded.
Note In this example, off-line means that your computer is not connected to your network.
The OK button is missing from the Table Properties dialog box in the Finnish version of Word 2003

The smart document solution manifest does not support time-stamps
When a certificate-signed smart document solution expires, the solution no longer functions as designed and requires the solution manifest to be resigned and redeployed. This issue occurs because the smart document solution manifest does not support time-stamps.
Some EUDC text may appear incorrectly with rotated characters
When East Asian language text contains mixed horizontal and vertical text alignment, some End User-Defined Characters (EUDC) text may appear incorrectly with rotated characters.

If you have multiple language translation providers installed in Word 2003, the translation of text in a document may occur by using all the providers that are installed. The expected behavior is for one translation provider to be the source for all the translations in the whole document.
You receive an error message when you programmatically use the InsertXML method to insert a text fragment into an XML file
When you programmatically use the
InsertXML method to insert a text fragment into an XML file, you may receive the following error message:
XML markup cannot be inserted in the specified location.
If you use the French version of Word 2003 or the English version of Word 2003 with the French Multilanguage User Interface Pack to open Word documents from a link on a Web page, the document does not show the correct file name or the correct path of the file name
Consider the following scenario. You are using the French version of Word 2003 or the English version of Word 2003 with the French Multilanguage User Interface Pack. You open a Word document from a link on a Web page. However, the document opens with an incorrect file name or an incorrect path of the file name. In this scenario, the document opens with a title of "Document dans Microsoft Internet Explorer."
