SUMMARYWhen you want to back up an instance of Microsoft BizTalk
Server 2004, you must back up all the BizTalk Server 2004-related databases
on computers that are participating in the BizTalk Server 2004 installation to
a common point. STATUSMicrosoft
has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed
in the "Applies to" section.
This problem was corrected in BizTalk Server 2004 Service Pack 1.
MORE INFORMATIONA BizTalk Server 2004 transaction may span multiple
databases and multiple computers. If one of those databases fails, the whole
BizTalk Server 2004 instance has to be restored, and then all related databases
must be restored to a single point in time to guarantee that the system is in a
consistent state. BizTalk Server 2004 does not include the ability to keep a
warm standby environment. This hotfix, known as BizTalk Server 2004 Log
Shipping, provides this functionality.
