INTRODUCTION
This article describes the Microsoft Word 2000 issue that is fixed in the Word 2000 post-Service Pack 3 (SP3) hotfix package that is dated July 7, 2004.

The following issue is fixed in this hotfix package, but it was not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
- When you use a macro that continually calls the Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) GetPoint method, memory usage increases every time that the GetPoint method is called. Memory usage may continue to increase until you cannot use Word 2000.
Note The GetPoint method returns the screen coordinates of a specified range or shape.
