INTRODUCTION

This article describes how to determine the telephone number that you must dial to connect to a Microsoft Office Live Meeting.

MORE INFORMATION

When you configure a meeting, you enter the telephone number that you will use for the audio part of your Live Meeting. You use a conference call provider telephone number or an individual telephone number.

If you are using the PlaceWare recording servers, they are located in Santa Clara, California United States (country code 1, area code 408) Ashburn, Virginia United States (country code 1, area code 703) and in London, England (country code 44, city code 0207). You must dial accordingly, depending on the server that you are using and the country and city that you are dialing. If you are not sure which server you are using, ask your company's Live Meeting administrator. Do not add a "9" before the area code when you use PlaceWare's hosted service.

If you are using a conference call provider telephone number, dial the conference call telephone number, and then listen to determine what prompts you are presented with that require you to enter a number from your telephone to continue. For example, you may have to respond to one of the following:
  • You must enter a required "PIN" number.
  • There is a long pause before a recording prompts for a "PIN" number.
  • You must add the number sign "#" at the end of the "PIN" number.
Make sure that you add these required numbers or touch-tone keypad symbols to the end of the telephone number so that the recording server can connect to your conference call. You may have to have the recording server pause after it dials and connects to the initial telephone number before it dials a "PIN" number. To add a delay between numbers, you can type a comma "," in the dialing field. Typing a comma adds one second of delay for each comma.

The delay start after the call connects. The following is an example of an entry in the phone field:
