BUG: You may experience periodic failures of Data Transformation Services in SQL Server 2000 when you build data cubes with BizTalk Server 2004 data (870954)

SYMPTOMS

When you build data cubes with your Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004 data and the activity increases in your Business Activity Monitoring (BAM) databases, you may experience periodic failures of Data Transformation Services in Microsoft SQL Server 2000.

CAUSE

This problem occurs when the following conditions are true:
  • SQL Server 2000 Analysis Services Service Pack 3 is installed.
  • Analysis Services processes multiple cubes or partitions in parallel.

RESOLUTION

To fix this problem, follow the steps that are outlined in the following SQL Server 2000 Knowledge Base article:

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a bug in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
