Workbook data does not merge as expected in Excel 2002 (870752)

SYMPTOMSWhen you merge data into a Microsoft Excel 2002 workbook, data may not appear in the correct cell.CAUSEThis behavior occurs if you have previously merged the same file into the current workbook.WORKAROUNDTo work around this behavior, share the current workbook, and then merge the workbook again. To share a workbook in Excel 2002, follow these steps: - Start Excel, and then open the file you want.
- On the Tools menu, click Share Workbook.
- Click to select the Allow changes by more than one user at the same time. This also allows workbook sharing check box, and then click OK.
MORE INFORMATIONExcel 2002 is designed to merge a workbook one time. Excel 2002 ignores changes that you made to a workbook after the initial merge when you merge a workbook again. Changes made to a workbook may be merged as new data in the wrong cell.
