INTRODUCTION
This
article describes the Microsoft Excel 2002 issue that is fixed in the Excel
2002 post-Service Pack 3 hotfix package that is dated June 24, 2004.
back to the topIssues that are fixed in the hotfix package
The
following issue is fixed in this hotfix package but was not
previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
- The data in Excel 2002 cells that contain
formulas that include the RealTimeData (RTD) function may not be refreshed as
expected after you run another program.
This issue occurs if the other program that you run uses timer events and passes a timer ID value to the SetTimer() Microsoft Windows API function for a windowless timer.
If the timer ID value is the same as the timer ID value
for a windowless timer that Excel uses for the RTD function, the other program
takes control of the windowless timer from Excel 2002. This stops the RTD function
from refreshing the cell data.
