MSMQT fails with no error message when you send a message to @"DIRECT=OS:NoSuchMachine\private$\NoSuchQueue1" (870608)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004 Developer Edition
- Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004 Enterprise Edition
- Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004 Partner Edition
- Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004 Standard Edition
SYMPTOMSWhen you use the Microsoft BizTalk Server Message Queuing Adapter (MSMQT) to send a message to @"DIRECT=OS:NoSuchMachine\private$\NoSuchQueue1" and the send port has the Retry Count property set to 0 (retry count=0), the message appears to disappear and there is no indication that anything has gone wrong.CAUSEThe Retry Count property does not apply to MSMQT. By default, the time to reach a queue for your message is 4 days (96 hours). If you do not specify a time to reach a queue for your message, MSMQT will suspend the message and will then pass the message to the backup transport after 4 days.STATUS
This behavior is by design.
