This article was previously published under Q87715 SUMMARY
To align separate lines of header and footer text in a Works for Windows
Word Processor document, you must use center- or right-aligned
tabs, and you must choose to use header and footer paragraphs.
For example, to center the first line of the header but leave the
second line left justified, format the text in the header or footer
paragraph using left justification and use a center-aligned tab to center
the first line.
MORE INFORMATION
In a paragraph of header or footer text, when you press SHIFT+ENTER or
when you type enough text to cause a line to wrap, you create an
additional line of text in your header or footer. The only way to
format these lines separately is to format them with tabs.
For example, if the first line of a two-line header is changed to
center alignment, the second line will also be forced to be center
aligned, regardless of whether or not the second header line was
created by the Works wordwrap feature or by using the SHIFT+ENTER key
combination. This restriction applies to multiple-line footers as
well.
When you create a header or footer paragraph, centered page numbering is
automatically made in the footer line. Tab settings are automatically
placed on both the header and footer lines with one center-aligned tab
set between the left and right margins and a right-aligned tab set at
the right margin.
