Database Report May Display Incorrect Results (87646)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Works 2.0
- Microsoft Works 2.0a
This article was previously published under Q87646 SUMMARY
When you print, preview, or copy output from a database report, the
resulting output may be incorrect if all of the following conditions
exist:
- A formula field is included (field contents) in the report.
- The formula in that field references another field with text
entries instead of values. For example:
where FIELD1 is a text entry.
- The database is sorted from Report view.
WORKAROUND
Change the text entries to actual values.
NOTE: Works for Windows does not support text string functionality.
Therefore, formulas cannot reference text entries, only numerical
entries.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Works version 2.0. We
are researching this problem and will post new information here in the
Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
