  • Storage Manager for Server Appliances
  • Microsoft Server Appliance Kit (SAK), version 2.01
  • Microsoft Windows Storage Server 2003

SUMMARY

Computers that are running either Microsoft Server Appliance Kit version 2.01 or Microsoft Windows Storage Server 2003 have certain limitations when the software is installed as part of a server cluster environment.

MORE INFORMATION

The following Windows Storage Server 2003 features are not supported on storage server clusters:
  • Storage Manager 2.0.
  • Administration of server cluster shares by using the WebUI feature.
  • Apple shares failover.
  • Novell NetWare shares failover.
  • Scheduled jobs failover. Except for shadow copies, scheduled jobs, such as volume defragmentation, are not replicated and will not fail over.
The following Server Appliance Kit 2.01 features are not supported on storage server clusters:
  • Storage Manager 1.01
  • Administration of server cluster shares by using the WebUI feature
  • Apple shares failover
  • Novell NetWare shares failover
Storage Manager is not cluster aware. Therefore, you should not install it on clustered storage servers. Therefore, storage server clusters do not support directory quotas, file screening, or storage reports.
