A MOM 2000 agent that is manually installed may not use the encryption setting that you specify (867698)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Operations Manager 2000
SYMPTOMSIf you manually install a Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM) 2000 agent, the agent may not use the encryption setting that you specify. For example, if you configure a manually installed agent to use encrypted communication, the agent may instead use unencrypted communication.CAUSEThis issue occurs because MOM 2000 does not support a combination of encrypted and unencrypted agents on a single DCAM. MOM 2000 agents that are manually installed always use the global communication setting of the Consolidator.WORKAROUNDTo work around this issue, install a separate DCAM for each communication setting that you want to use.
