"Unable to connect to the live meeting server" error message when you install or when you run the Live Meeting Add-in for Microsoft Outlook (867574)

SYMPTOMS

When you try to install or when you try to run the Microsoft Office Live Meeting Add-in for Microsoft Outlook, you may receive the following error message:
Unable to connect to the live meeting server. Please verify that your Organizer User ID, Password, and the Live Meeting URL are correct.

CAUSE

This problem may occur if an earlier version of the Live Meeting Add-in for Microsoft Outlook is installed.

RESOLUTION

To make sure that the correct operation of the Live Meeting Add-in for Microsoft Outlook occurs, verify that you are using version 5.1.0.183 or later of the Live Meeting Add-in for Microsoft Outlook.

To verify the version number, follow these steps:
  1. Start the Live Meeting Add-in for Microsoft Outlook.
  2. On the Live Meeting Add-in for Microsoft Outlook toolbar, click Live Meeting, and then click About.
  3. In the About Live Meeting Add-in for Microsoft Outlook dialog box, verify that the version number is 5.1.0.187.
  4. Click OK.
