INTRODUCTION
Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server uses a multi-networking model to control how traffic flows between networks that are internal to your organization, and between internal and external networks.
You create and configure ISA Server network objects to match your organization's network infrastructure, and you create network rules to specify how traffic passes between network objects.
ISA Server checks network rules to determine whether source and destination networks can connect. If they can connect, ISA Server checks whether traffic between the network objects should have a network address translation (NAT) or route relationship.
To control how clients on a source network can access resources on a different destination network, you can configure access rules that determine how traffic is filtered and inspected.
