SUMMARY

Publisher provides the ability to print some pages upside-down. Upside-down printing occurs with the greeting card on pages 2 and 3 (and possibly 4 if using the top fold option) and on page 2 of the tent card.

Publisher does not have the ability to rotate internal (or cartridge) printer fonts, except on PostScript printers. With printer-internal fonts on upside-down pages, Publisher lays out the text as if it were going to be printed right side up (using the printer font metrics); when printing, Publisher rotates the bitmap of a closely matching screen font. Because the screen font doesn't have the same letter spacing as the internal printer font, abnormal spacing on the printout will result.

Using a scalable non-printer font will allow the printout to be correct. Publisher handles scalable non-printer fonts (TrueType, FaceLift, and Adobe Type Manager) correctly on upside-down pages.
