This article was previously published under Q86435 SUMMARY
The lines in a Microsoft Works for Windows line chart may not appear on screen or print if any of the following conditions exist:
- The spreadsheet data that the chart was created from is double-
spaced. Activate the chart window. From the Edit menu, click
Series, and compare the cell ranges in the Value (Y) Series
to the spreadsheet data. Anywhere a blank cell appears in the value
series range, the line will be suppressed.
- The Patterns setting may be set to None. Activate the chart window.
From the Format menu, click Patterns & Colors,
select either Auto or Solid under Patterns,
then click Format.
Neither the lines nor the markers display or print in the following
cases:
- The Colors setting is the same as the window background color
(for example, white). To change the Color setting, click
Patterns & Colors from the Format menu, select a
new color, then click Format.
- The cells referenced by the value series contain numbers formatted
as text (for example, numbers preceded by spaces). To check this,
highlight each cell in the value series range, and make sure that
the number in the formula bar is not preceded by a quotation
mark.
