To use a Microsoft Mouse on an IBM CL 57 computer, the mouse must be
connected to the serial port and MOUSE.SYS must be used in the
CONFIG.SYS file. This information applies to the serial - PS/2 style
Microsoft Mouse and BallPoint Mouse for MS-DOS systems.
MORE INFORMATION
The IBM CL 57 is a color laptop computer that has a trackball mouse
built into the keyboard. To use the Microsoft Mouse instead of the
trackball, MOUSE.SYS must be installed in the CONFIG.SYS file and the
Microsoft Mouse must be connected to the serial port. Using MOUSE.COM
with any of the command line switches (/c1 or /c2) or plugging the
mouse into the PS/2 port using the /z switch results in an inactive
Microsoft Mouse.
If the above suggestion does not work, contact IBM or your local
dealer to find out how to disable the trackball mouse.
The IBM CL 57, is manufactured by a vendor independent of Microsoft; we
make no warranty, implied or otherwise, regarding this product's
performance or reliability.
