SUMMARY

By design, the spelling checker in Microsoft Works versions 2.0 and 3.0 for Windows does not flag words containing numbers as misspelled.

Even if a word containing a number is misspelled, the spelling checker will not flag the word as incorrect. For example, if you include the words "Wor2d" and "Wor2dddddddddd" in a Works document, the spelling checker ignores both words.

MORE INFORMATION

In Works versions 4.0, 4.5, and 4.5a, you can deactivate this feature. In the spelling checker dialog box, clear the Ignore Words With Numbers check box.
