Works for Windows: Printing Multiple Copies of Labels (85060)

This article was previously published under Q85060

SUMMARY

Printing multiple copies of labels in Microsoft Works version 2.0 for Windows is usually done by changing the Number Of Copies option in the Print dialog box. The same method is used in Microsoft Works version 2.0 for MS-DOS.

Labels printed from Works for Windows with this method are printed in a different order than labels printed from Works for MS-DOS. Instead of printing multiple copies of the same label together in columns (as Works for MS-DOS does), Works for Windows simply reprints the entire batch of labels on a new page.

MORE INFORMATION

To illustrate this, assume that there are six records in a database and you want to print two copies of each record on labels. Assuming three labels across, the output would appear as follows:
MS-DOS Version Windows Version
-------------- ---------------

Page 1 Page 1
------ ------

Label1 Label2 Label3 Label1 Label2 Label3

Label1 Label2 Label3 Label4 Label5 Label6

Label4 Label5 Label6 Page 2
                                        ------
