SYMPTOMS
Your Microsoft Windows 2000-based computer may stop unexpectedly and you may receive an error message that is similar to the following:
STOP: 0x00000050 (Parameter_1, Parameter_2, Parameter_3, Parameter_4) PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
CAUSE
This problem may occur if you have installed the hotfix that is described in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
329826 Extending NTFS volume fails but appears to be successful
After the Ntfs.sys file is replaced by the 329826 hotfix, a nonpaged pool memory leak in the memory descriptor list (MDL) tag may occur. This leak occurs
because the cleanup code that is included in the 329826 hotfix does not clean up the MDL.
