FIX: The Analysis Services service may stop unexpectedly when you run a complex MDX query after you set the Cache Policy connection property to 7 (843519)

SYMPTOMS

When you connect to a Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Analysis Services server computer by setting the Cache Policy connection property to 7, and you try to run a complex Multidimensional Expressions (MDX) query to fetch the data from the Analysis Services database, the Analysis Services service may stop unexpectedly. Additionally, you may notice a stack dump file that is similar to the following:

RESOLUTION

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next SQL Server 2000 Analysis Services service pack that contains this hotfix.
