FIX: You may receive a permissions error message when you access the BizDesk (843274)

SYMPTOMS

When you access the Microsoft Commerce Server Business Desk (BizDesk) on a Commerce Server site, you may occasionally receive the following error message in the left pane:

You do not have sufficient permissions to use Microsoft Commerce Server Business Desk. Please contact your system administrator.
You receive this error message even if the user has the appropriate permissions. This problem may occur more frequently on very fast network connections.

RESOLUTION

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next Microsoft Commerce Server 2002 service pack that contains this hotfix.

Commerce Server 2002 Service Pack 3 (SP3) or Feature Pack 1

Restart requirement

You may have to restart the IISADMIN service for the changes to take effect.

The English version of this hotfix has the file attributes (or later) that are listed in the following table. The dates and times for these files are listed in coordinated universal time (UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab in the Date and Time tool in Control Panel.

WORKAROUND

If the user who accesses the BizDesk does have the correct permissions, the error message can typically be cleared by refreshing the browser
