Large black blocks appear in a shared Virtual PC session in Office Live Meeting (842938)

SYMPTOMS

If you run Microsoft Office Live Meeting in a Microsoft Virtual PC environment where you share an active Virtual PC session, you may see large black blocks appear around the pointer. These large black blocks may obscure parts of the screen.

CAUSE

This issue may occur if the hardware acceleration is set too high on your computer.

WORKAROUND

To work this issue, reduce the hardware acceleration on your computer. To do this, follow these steps.

Note Because there are several versions of Microsoft Windows, the following steps may be different on your computer. If they are, see your product documentation to complete these steps.
  1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Click Appearance and Themes.
  3. Click Display.
  4. On the Settings tab, click Advanced.
  5. On the Troubleshoot tab, move the Hardware acceleration slider control one mark to the left to reduce the hardware acceleration on your computer, and then click OK.
  6. Click OK to close the Display Properties dialog box.

MORE INFORMATION

To improve performance of the mouse and the pointer movements in a shared Virtual PC session, the member that is running the shared Virtual PC session may need to update their installation of Virtual PC. To do this, click Install or Update Virtual Machine Additions on the Actions menu in Virtual PC.
