You cannot use the Monthly Spending Progress thermometer to track category spending in Money (842872)

SYMPTOMSYou cannot track spending by category in the Monthly
Spending Progress feature on the Microsoft Money home page. For example, when
you try to display a thermometer on the home page for a category, the spending
for the [all other] subcategory appears instead.CAUSEThis problem occurs if you customize the Monthly Spending
Progress monitor.WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, configure each subcategory to
display a spending thermometer on the Money home page. To do this, follow these
steps:
- On the Money home page under Monthly Spending
Progress, click Customize.
- Click the category where you want to track expenses in a
subcategory, and then click to clear the Tell me when my monthly
spending in this category is check box.
- Click the subcategory you where you want to track expenses,
click to select the Tell me when my monthly spending in this category
is check box, and then click the appropriate budget tracking
option.
- Click OK.
