Gauges use mixed units in Flight Simulator 2002 (842866)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Flight Simulator 2002
- Microsoft Flight Simulator 2002 Professional Edition
SYMPTOMSWhen you are playing Microsoft Flight Simulator 2002, you
may notice one of the following symptoms:
- Gauges in the instrument panel are a mixture of US System
and Metric units.
- There is no air traffic when the air traffic control
Traffic Percent setting is set to 100 percent.
Note You can change the Units of measure setting to
Metric (Altimeter feet), and then you can see metric units
with the altimeter in feet. CAUSEThis problem may occur after you install third-party add-ins
to Flight Simulator 2002.RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, remove Flight Simulator 2002,
remove the folder where Flight Simulator 2002 was installed, and then reinstall
Flight Simulator 2002. To do this, follow these steps. Note Because there are several versions of Microsoft Windows, the
following steps may be different on your computer. If they are, see your
product documentation to complete these steps.
Step 1: Restart the computer by using a clean-boot procedure Start Microsoft Windows by loading a minimal set of drivers and
services. This process, also known as a clean boot procedure, provides as
"clean" an installation environment as possible to reinstall Flight Simulator
2002. To perform a clean boot in Microsoft Windows XP, follow these steps.
Note For information about how to perform a clean boot procedure in
other operating systems, see the "More Information" section.

2.

may require assistance from the manufacturer of the program that automatically
selects the check box (puts a check mark back in MSconfig).
