Hotfix information

After you install this hotfix
Warning If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious
problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft
cannot guarantee that you can solve problems that result from using Registry
Editor incorrectly. Use Registry Editor at your own
risk.
After you install this hotfix, follow these steps to create the
MaxDSNSize registry entry and to enable the hotfix:
- Click Start, click Run,
type regedit32, and then click OK.
- Locate and then click the following key in the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\SMTPSVC
- On the Edit menu, point to New, click Key, add the following registry key, and then click
OK:
Key name: Queuing
Class: Leave the class blank
- On the Edit menu, point to New, click DWORD
Value, and then add the following registry value:
Value name: MaxDSNSize
Data type: REG_DWORD
Radix: Decimal
Value data: This value is the size limit in bytes. Messages that are larger
than this value and that generate an NDR do not return attachments or full message
properties.
- Restart the SMTP service for this registry change to
take effect.
