SYMPTOMS

If you access a Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 folder that has a home page and then access another Outlook folder, a blank preview pane may be displayed. The blank preview pane appears instead of an Outlook item such as an e-mail message. This symptom may occur if all the following conditions are true:
  • You access an Outlook folder that has a home page.
  • The Outlook folder home page redirects to an .xml file.
  • You access the Outlook folder home page that redirects to an .xml file, and then access another Outlook folder.

RESOLUTION

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 service pack that contains this hotfix.
