A storage group stops responding on a computer that is running Exchange Server 2003 or Exchange 2000 Server (842416)

SYMPTOMSOn a computer that is running Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 or Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server, you may experience the following symptoms: - A storage group on the Exchange computer stops responding. The storage group stops accepting client logons and client mail requests.
- If you try to dismount a database in the storage group, the database becomes locked and does not dismount.
- If you try to dismount a different database in the storage group after the first database is locked, you cannot do so. To regain functionality of the storage group, you must restart the Exchange computer.
RESOLUTIONExchange Server 2003 hotfix informationA supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 service pack that contains this hotfix.
