You cannot CONTROL-click in a Windows program that you are given control of through the Sharing feature in Live Meeting by using Internet Explorer 5.2 for Macintosh (842378)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Office Live Meeting
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.2.x for Macintosh, when used with:
- the operating system: Mac OS X
SYMPTOMSYou cannot CONTROL-click in a Microsoft Windows program that
you are given control of through the Sharing feature in Microsoft Office Live
Meeting by using Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.2 for Macintosh and Mac OS X
10.3.2 or earlier.CAUSEThis problem occurs because Internet Explorer 5.2 for
Macintosh OS X 10.3, 10.3.1, and 10.3.2 uses Java version 1.4.1 to run Java
applets. Mac OS X 10.2.x uses Java 1.3.1. These versions of the Java do not
correctly handle this style of interaction in Java Applets that are running in
the Macintosh version of Internet Explorer.RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, you must upgrade Mac OS X version
10.3 or 10.3.1 to version 10.3.3 or later and upgrade the Java Virtual Machine
1.4.1 to Java Virtual Machine 1.4.2. To do this, follow these steps. Upgrade to Mac OS X version 10.3.3To upgrade to Mac OS X version 10.3.3, follow these steps:
- On the Apple menu, click Software
Update.
- On the Update Software tab, click
Check Now.
- Click to select the Mac OS X Combine Update
10.3.3 check box.
- Click Install.
- Type the administrator name and password, and then click
OK.
Upgrade to Java 1.4.2To upgrade to Java 1.4.2, follow these steps:
- On the Apple menu, click Software
Update.
- On the Update Software tab, click
Check Now.
- Click to select the Java 1.4.2 check box.
- Click Install.
- Type the administrator name and password, and then click
OK.
WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem on Mac OS X 10.2.5 or earlier,
you must update to Mac OS 10.2.8 and Java 1.4.1, and then use Safari to log on
to the Live Meeting Web site. Upgrade to Mac OS X version 10.2.8 To upgrade to Mac OS X version 10.2.8, visit the following Web
site:
- On the Apple menu, click Software
Update.
- On the Update Software tab, click
Check Now.
- Click to select the Mac OS X Update Combo
10.2.8 check box.
- Click Install.
- Type the administrator name and password, and then click
OK.
Upgrade to Java 1.4.1To upgrade to Java 1.4.1, follow these steps:
- On the Apple menu, click Software
Update.
- On the Update Software tab, click
Check Now.
- Click to select the Java 1.4.1 Update 1
check box.
- Click Install.
- Type the administrator name and password, and then click
OK.
