SYMPTOMS

After you install Microsoft IntelliPoint 5.0, you may not be able to zoom or to pan in AutoDesk AutoCAD by using the wheel button on your wheel mouse.

CAUSE

The default function assignment for the wheel button is changed from AutoScroll to "next window" in IntelliPoint 5.0

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, assign the function assignment for the wheel button to AutoScroll in Control Panel. To do this, follow these steps.

Note Because there are several versions of Microsoft Windows, the following steps may be different on your computer. If they are, see your product documentation to complete these steps.

Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
Click Printers and Other Hardware, and then click Mouse.
Click the Buttons tab, and then click AutoScroll in the Wheel button list.
Click OK.
