Only the .dat files are moved when you change the location of the X.400 message queue folder in Exchange Server 2003 (842093)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 Enterprise Edition
- Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 Standard Edition
SYMPTOMSWhen you change the location of the X.400 message queue folder in Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 by using Exchange System Manager or by using the Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) MoveMTAdata method, only the .dat files are moved from the Mtadata folder to the folder that you specify. The whole contents of the Mtdadata folder are not moved to the folder that you specify. CAUSEWhen you change the location of the X.400 message queue folder, you modify the path of the Message Transfer Agent (MTA) database. Only the database files (.dat) that are contained in the Mtadata folder are moved to the new location. The database files that are moved include the files that are required to start the MTA, queue files, and message files.
Other MTA support files that are contained in the Mtadata folder, including .tpl and .xv2 files, remain in the Mtadata folder.
